Falafel waffles are the best way to cook falafel
If you love falafel and love waffles than you are going to love falafel waffles, or as I like to call it, fawaffles. I absolutely love falafel and I think the falafel mix from Trader Joe’s is seriously one of the most underrated products. I normally make it the traditional way, I roll it into balls and air fry them. I have been trying to use my waffle maker more so it isn’t always collecting dust and decided to try it out on the falafel mix and it is the winning way!
If you have been a falafel hater becuase you find them to be too dense and dry, try it one more time as a fawaffle and I promise it will change your mind.
What you’ll need for falafel waffles
To make the falafel waffles, you only need 2 ingredients, the mix and water. If you don’t live near a Trader Joe’s, Knorr also have a falafel mix. I have personally never tried it but I am sure they are similar. What you’ll need for 2 waffles:
- 1/2 cup falafel mix mixed with 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp water
- Top with tzatziki sauce and romesco dip
- Optional: serve with my chopped greek salad
How to make a falafel waffle
These are very easy to make and take less than than baking or even air frying.

I used my dash mini waffle maker for these. I have this for 3 years now and love it but you can use any sized waffle maker, you just may need to adjust the amount of mix you use to fill the pan.
Please let me know what you think of the fawaffle in the comments! I hope you love it just as much as I do!
